Many of the black power players in the democratic party gained their position from the party establishment. It is more important to them to retain their power base than to elect a black presidents who owes them not a thing.

I am from Aruba and have been following this race closely. First of all, blacks should not let the opposition divide them.
This whole issue about Obama's Pastor's comments is in an effort to divide. You all should stand strong. Black americans for the first time are united in their support for Obama. He is someone who will unite everyone. That is the reason that blacks and whites are voting for him.. The politics of Sharpton and Jackson have expired.
Whites tired of being called racist. Obama can not win with the black vote only, he needs whites and latinos to vote for him also. Obama's message is that he will be a president for everyone, and with a President who is black, it is mt hope that all the blacks who constantly blame race for everything, will get an education, get a job, (Blacks should open more businesses in America- not Africa, ) and move on.
I am sure all the young blacks who are in prison will be inspired and when they are released will vow never to return.
I believe Mr. Obama will be a great President. Imaging for the first time in history there is a President who looks like us. Stay united !!!!! The dream is coming true.
