Obama's Top 10 'Faith Moments'

To commemorate President Barack Obama's first 100 days in office, U.S. News & World Report documented what it considers to be the "10 Most Important Obama Faith Moments."
Without defining what "most important" and "faith moment" mean, the magazine clearly showed the thesis and thrust of the article with this sentence: "Barack Obama has embraced faith in a more visible way than any other president in recent memory."
Given that statement ...

Guess you forgot about J's instruction to "love your enemies, do GOOD TO THOSE WHO WOULD HARM YOU". It is amazing how many people of faith conveniently forget that.

Re: Matthew 5:44, Luke 6:27, How that relates to Chuck's article or either of my comments is unclear, Arlene. But to address the point about loving your enemies, the Lord did love His enemies. That's why He made statements like John 8:24. If He hadn't loved them, He'd have kept quiet and let them go to hell as they deserved.

Thanks for the summary, Chuck. Reading through BHO's supposed faith moments, I see no mention of his acknowledgement of the bodily resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. If at present he perceives himself to be a 'faith person' but disbelieves in the Lord's resurrection, then President Obama should note carefully the admonition of St Paul, "And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins" 1 Corinthians 15:17. As the Lord Himself warned of those who rejected His Messiahship and salvation (BHO appears to have done both, allowing himself to be portrayed in a Messianic role by Michael D'Antuono's painting "The Truth" – featuring Obama with his arms outstretched and wearing a crown of thorns upon his head, Drew Zahn, April 25 2009, WND): "I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins" John 8:24. BHO seems to be on a one-way right now, 'faith moments' notwithstnding, all the way down.

I guess you know about this, Chuck, because efforts to combat Bill 909 are being supported by WND but here is one person of genuine faith (unlike the subject of your latest article). I am referring to Janet (Folger) Porter
President of Faith2Action. This is what she says in her circular.
"There is a bill on the fast track in the U.S. Senate (§ 909) that would not only criminalize free speech but provide elevated protection to pedophiles. The bill is euphemistically called "The Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act." I call it "The Pedophile Protection Act." It was exposed as such when an amendment to exclude pedophiles from special legal protections, offered by Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, was rejected by the Democrats in the House Judiciary Committee. Rep. Alcee Hastings, D-Florida, admitted from the House Floor that this bill put 547 forms of sexual deviancies listed by the American Psychiatric Association, which he referred to as "all of these 'philias' and fetishes and 'isms,'" on the same level of elevated protection as "race ... religion ... gender ... or disability."" Mrs Porter states that WND has devised a plan to FedEx copies of a letter opposing the Bill to every U.S. Senator on the writer's behalf for $10.95 each. I am sure you and your wife Gena would fully endorse this letter and I trust you will highlight it in both this and your WND column.
