by Lawrence Kudlow

Does anybody really believe that adding 50 million people to the public health-care rolls will not cost the government more money? About $1.5 trillion to $2 trillion more? At least.

So let's be serious when evaluating President Obama's goal of universal health care, and the idea that it's a cost-cutter. Can't happen. Won't happen. Costs are going to explode.

Think of it: Can anyone name a federal program that ever cut costs for anything? Let's not forget that t ...

Sir;...You are not much of an economist if you do not realize that private health is a public problem, and that, whether we pay for health and manage the health care system or not, it is a persistent cost in a society... Health care could conceivable be much less expensive with a single payer, and better for all without the constant confusion that causes so much death, misery, injury, and malpractice...It would also offer much less profit for the rich...Now; isn't that your concern, that a single payer system would tax equitably, and so limit the outrageous profits that have often characterized the health care industry??? You want to profit on health even if it means many will be denied basic services, and die needless deaths... Certainly, in this land so willing to deny health care we can expect little more than support for international terror, and torture of enemies... How can we expect that ours will live their lives in terror that illness will bankrupt them, or that they will die tortured by disease, and will still have compassion for others... This is our land... This is a commonwealth... We are not supposed to see ourselves reduced to a savage state of medical care so we can have splendidly rich individuals... We should not all suffer the want of security and wealth that is ours when it was all taken from the public purse, or all built up while denying to the country fair tax revenues...If the government will not tax the rich, and will not support the rights of the people neither the rich nore the government will have the support of the people... We have to take this land periodically to say we have it at all... We are as dispossessed as any Roman citizen ever was in Rome...Like those people we will become a mob surging to the side of the tyrants who promise most... This is not a democracy... We must demand our rights and our commonwealth if we will have a democracy... I demand my rights... Let us govern health care, and govern the rich...Thanks...Sweeney
