Sir;... With all the problems facing the president elect, isn't it possible that an expression of outrage is not only pointless, but misplaced??? He hasn't expressed anguish about the Wall Street meldown either; because the needs of the country are greater, as the needs of government are greater in Illinois, and justice will be little served if he prejudices a jury with his own expression of prejudice... We are all outraged... We are all offended... We are not all in such a high position of authority that we can bend justice with a word... What is amusment to you and an outrage to me, is for that governor, the supreme test of his life... We have all found him guilty, and found him short of honor, and he will need every bit of honor to face and to survive his future.... We do not want him to take the honorable way out... We want for that man to confirm our faith, to redeem himself, and to restore himself to honor... The debasement of the human soul is not a triumph for right or left, but is a tragedy for us all... And we allow this behavior, and encourage this behavior when we give people such great power with a mere majority of votes... We know power tends to corrupt... It is choice only that subjects people to irresistable temptation... In this land where honor is cheap and money is dear we put representatives in the way of great power and money... It is foolish and stupid, and yet we blame the sinner and not the devil subject him to... I am outraged; and outraged at the whole impossible situation, but I am not surprised... Are you surprised???I think that is why we send rich people to government, so they will vote their own benefit without the need for corruption... They are not any better, and just as rotten, but because they are bought already the spectacle of them being bought does not offend us so... Thanks...Sweeney
