Sir;... Let me revisit your article... You seem to admit that statistically, measured by wages, we are not doing better... Let me agree... Obviously, clearly, revealed in the hoplessness of the people and the crumbling infrastructure, the beaurocratic bumbling from Katrina to Wall Street; this country is not doing well, and the people are not happy, and no amount of smear on the democrats is going to remove all the responsibility from the republicans... Let me point out an obvious fact: WE all have to live here... And much as the rich don't want to pay their share for the upkeep of infrastructure and public services, if we do not have those things; we hurt... Are the poor alone in needing a working society or in bearing the obligation to pay for it???The children of rich people go to college... Do they realize to what extent people whose children will never attend university pay for those who do??? We suffer our social problems alone... We know we are hard pressed individually..,Do you think people will not some day realize that they are all being injured??? Do you think they will miss the fact , that while their income may be the same because both husband and wife are working, their children are raising themselves, and attending a run down crappy school where the over worked teachers can't bring themselves to give more of a damn??? This society is suffering from a disease... It is not so simple as as the spent ideal of capital... It is that for sure... -And the fact that states are forced to dance for capital trying to flee the mess it makes and would forever leave behind... Instead of our states protecting their citizens they must instead kiss the butts of those who use up the place and the people and leave without a bit of saddness...- There is no real relationship between workers and owners... There may have been more concern of masters for slaves... But do you suppose people don't notice that there is no love here, and that it is only about money??? We all have to survive on this Ice Burg.. Even if the rich want us to drop dead so they will not have to give us our due; we just can't do it no matter how much we love the thought... We want to be loved by the rich, and appreciated for our work, and more than that, we want to love the rich and have a real relationship with them -where they actually care for us and our well being... The problem is this: You cannot just throw the whole country into the hands of a bunch of quasi-criminals who take everyone, and never tell the truth, and are incapable of love; and call us a happy land... WE are not happy. It is not because we can't read statistics. It is not because we have unreasonable expectations. We don't have enough expectation..
