Jeeezis Deb;.... Is there no issue for you but the Gay/Lesbian issue??? You are like a coin with only side, and no matter how you're flipped you come up tails...Use your head, Ma'am...You might think it is horribly unfair; but if society does not take some care of the hets you haven't got a society... And raising children is not any more of a Choice than homosexuality, but it is much neglected, demeaned, and labor intensive...Around here, the gays once asked for the family rate at the zoo... Perhaps a great majority of people taking their children to the zoo thought the gays should be in a zoo...But since when does a couple count as a family??? I mean, parents have to expose their children to zoos and museums to do their duty by them to provide education; and if they run across Gays there, well you are a fact of life, just like art and animals... But the family rate??? Come on, and get real... It isn't all about you... It isn't even all sexuality and sexual consciousness... What is so great about going from ac to dc??? Is there some third choice???? It is not original, and it is not better; and considering that gays have often mucked things up no matter where they have had their way, what is the socially redeeming quality to homosexuality??? If they can beat straights out of a job because they are there every day with bells on chomping at the bit; and everyone else is occasionally out dealing with family issues, illness, and school; then naturally you might have a better rep with the boss, and not with your fellow workers... And that is the story of life as far as I can see it, where the winners win by default, because others cannot or will not get there and get the job done... And when I have had to win the hard way because some guy with a working wife, and no kids could camp on a job I was desparete for, and without near the impediments, then you can lose some respect, and it is not because you are prejudiced, or bigoted; but because you realize you are doing something that is not particularly pleasing, that no one gives medals for, and no society can live without... Why don't you write a column once in a while about how difficult it is to be a decent father or mother, to educate your children since the state thinks of it as a privilege rather than a public responsibility, and do it against the competition of a whole bunch of rotten parents or people who would be rotten parents if they were parents at all... Now; you see I am as good at whining as anyone else, but I want to tell you, that I have seen some creditable evidence that parents die younger than non-parents, so they do not just give time, but life to the process... It is a sacrifice, not unlike the sacrifice all people make for their relationships; but what exactly do you think is the Gay/Les sacrifice for their society???They want it all..That's unusual....What do they invest in having it all??? Now, you know I support your equality; but I have a hard time supporting your privilege... Does that make sense??? Thanks...Sweeney
