Obama And The Hip-Hop Problem

Young black activists roared their approval when Barack Obama recently greeted criticism on the trail by dusting off his shoulders, a reference to a rap song by Jay-Z called "Dirt Off Your Shoulder." The media covering the moment went crazy, too. Washington Post reporter Teresa Wiltz hailed Obama's moves and called it a "seminal moment in the campaign, the merging of politics and pop culture," and noted the lyrics suggest, "If you feelin' like a pimp ... go and brush ...

B-dawg, chill out. It's obvious that you're obsessed with this stuff, you certainly know a lot about hip hop. You know all the lyrics, the artists, all the gossip….Why don't admit that you love hip hop. Just please don't try and “bust a move” on the dance floor. That'd be worse than a water-boarding session. Also, lose the beard you look like a buccaneer.

Welcome to the hip hop generation... first let me point out that 2 of the shows you mentioned were first aired by Bob Johnson owner of BET who supports Hillary "sniperfire" Clinton. I am a 38 year old black man with a 7 year old daughter and she is never allowed to watch BET not even on sunday morning. You pundits need to stop and think is tearing Obama down for the sake of ratings really worth it. McCain is going to get more people killed to make a point and Hillary well lets just say her creditability is suspect. stop coming up with bullshit and get back to the issues
