Sir;... Where every failing president fails, and every successful president succeeds is the same point... When any president, out of fear of his future election follows in the failure of his predicesor, he fails; because he shows himself lacking in courage, and in imagination... In this way he gains none of the votes of his foes, and loses the votes of his friends.... This is the point where presidents prove themselves great, where they act boldly to change a failed past, admit failure, and even defeat, or mistakes; and do right, and smart, and good...They should know, and do know, that the advantage is always to attack, and not to defense in politics... So that one who makes a false charge always has the advantage... People who do this when it means the continuation of a failed policy should have a very bright light shined in their eyes, and on their lives...Our system of government, political parties and all, have neatly divided this people, and made of this society a cold civil war... Any politician has to fear the slightest change in the weather as a sign of a drought, or an ice age.... The middle is a battle ground that both parties fight over, even while their bases boil over in frustration for lack of a choice... In this world, what sort of president is Mr. Obama showing himself to be??? He accepts the form...In regard to the economy and the financial system, he cannot escape the formal approach, the failed approach illuminated by a failed ideology... He cannot strike out on a new path because he can see no new path... He wants for the clear, unflinching vision of a leader... He is a follower, like most politicians, following the poles, the 'will' of the p eople, and not guiding it, or shaping it to a new purpose, for a new path... He cannot free us while he is trapped by the form of our government and economy...I voted for the guy...I did not expect much, and have gotten even less... I will not vote for him again... I will not vote... They will have to rule without my consent.. ..And if I may: On e glaring point of failure for the democrats and Mr. Obama is the fear to investigate and prosecute the war crimes of the last administration... When no one made an issue of Nixon, thinking it would heal the nation; the nation was not healed, and more importantly, no one took a lesson from it... If we are unable and unwilling to see the criminals at the top of our society hounded into court, and into prison, we make all the more certain that we will soon be victimized again by like minded, self serving patriots..If Mr. Obama seeks to heal this nation he ought to root out all criminality at the highest reaches of the government and economy and stay clean himself...He proposes to keep his own hands free by keeping free the hands of other criminals... He should remember that he was not injured by the crimes of the rich and the famous, or the party leaders he replaced nearly so much as we were...He has the power to pardon, but he should make certain of a fair hearing, or he has ruined our respect of law, and left our cry for justice unheeeded...He dirties himself with the obstruction of justice....
