Sir;...What you call high earners are high profiteers, who have been bleeding the life and freedom out of this country for many years... They have had control over our government, and for all practical purposes still do.... They have evaded taxes to maximize profits even while that meant avoiding a just wage that would support health care and retirment, education and infrastructure maintainance.... The county, the land, the industry, the economy, which in any respect must still support the entire population has been turned to increasing profits and wealth for the few, and the balance has been loaded on to those who already support the whole of society with their labor... Those denied just wages, and taxed into extremus to support wealth, were then forced to rely on credit just like the government denied the fair support of taxes on wealth... ...The whole of government has a stated purpose, and no where does it say that it must make the support of wealth and defense of private property its primary, if not its only goal...Rather, as this country was constituted, the wealthy paid for their property rights with taxes on property which resulted in a positive public good -that taxes on wages does not result in....In looking at taxes on wealth, which are necessary and over due, you should not look at it as an unjust evil... It is not an evil...It is the correction of an evil...Every republic is a common wealth....All the property, to which the people hold ultimate title, and who guarantee the title of, must still support all the people and the institution of government as well... Why should the people have ever parted with this land which it stole fair and square from king and native if the land in private hands did not do good, and support the people???The land must support the population... For that reason the government supports private property...The economy must support the population...No claim to property has ever been absolute, but required the payment of taxes to support its own defense... If the government cannot support itself, and see the people supported, then it cannot defend the monster of public property with the behemoth of the legal system..... No society has ever failed from universal poverty, though many have failed from the divisive nature of wealth, that in making a few kings makes all paupers... We do not have to be universally poor.... We do not need wealth so great is so few hands that it makes foolish the notion of commonwealth...This land, is our land; and it is for our good and moral improvement that it exists as a nation... We do not now have that benefit, which is also the end of democracy; and yet, if we will exist, we must seize this good... Thanks...Sweeney
