The week before a state appeals court condemned the wholesale removal of children from the Yearning for Zion Ranch in Eldorado, a spokesman for Texas Child Protective Services (CPS) insisted the case "is not about religion." Thank you for your clear and astute analysis of the situation at the Eldorado community and the actions of Texas CPS. Having been a victim of CPS myself many years ago based on a false charge (fortunately I never lost my kids to their horrible system) I find myself sympathizing for the parents in Eldorado. If CPS and other governmental bodies can decide that the FLDS belief system is harmful today, how long will it take them to decide that my Catholic friend Mary who homeschools her 9 kids, is also an abuser? or me, who cares for my autistic grandson at home and continually fights the school system because we choose natural healing and herbal remedies over speed and addictive medications?
