New Slogans For Barack Obama
by Ben Shapiro
Barack Obama's messianic tour of Europe is over. And, like Jesus, he has risen again — in the polls. According to Gallup's daily tracking poll, Obama is now up 8 percent among registered voters. According to Rasmussen, his lead is a whopping three points. (According to USA Today/Gallup, John McCain actually leads Obama among likely voters by 4 percent. But God knows that Jesus' poll numbers are always vacillating, too.)
Obama's return has meant jubilation in the streets. Demure v ...

It's possible you are voicing your true opinion as a young, educated columnist. Your tone is smug, condescending, and patronizing. It speaks much louder than your words. Sarcasm is usually used when we are angry and at a loss for words. If you can't find a better way to express your views, possibly you should consider an outlet for your aggression, such as throwing stones. Sounds like you're trying to denigrate the young, old, rich, poor, educated and uneducated who support Obama. They can't all be wrong, can they? Maybe they can, after all, those same people voted Bucheney for two terms, and didn't impeach them, though they had just cause. The majority of people don't have a column to express their opinions, so they do it at the polls. Seems they are really tired of the mess the Bucheney's have made and don't trust McCain to fix it.

I never get enough of reading your rubish. How do you do it? I think you have pretty well figured out what is going to work with the poor white folks who have had to pay the price for equality with blacks. From their perspective it has never been: raise the blacks; but has always been: lower the whites. and they can't get much lower. So, do I think you have a winner? Every time the republicans race Mr. Obama loses. I don't think you can age him, because that only makes Mccain look ancient. I think you can question his patriotism, as well you might question the patriotism of every democrat. It is something republicans get away with, and god help you all if it is ever held up to a light. I think you should question his sanity. What kind of crazy man would subject himself willingly to republican abuse against which he can only queer punch. If he beats up on that old man every one will call him a poor sport. If the old man kicks him in the balls the gaffer will be called wise beyond wisdom. Blacks didn't come to this country to win elections, and come to think of it, I don't know why they came unless they just never get enough of abuse. You take care of that for me now. ...Thanks; Sweeney

I'll bet you are tired of the slogans for hope and change. So what is yours? More of the SAME!
Good luck with that. I would never be the last to deny the stupidity, cupidity, or credibility of the american people. My bet is that Mr. Obama loses one vote for every vote gained when trying to deny hope and change as good reasons to vote Obama. He would like to appeal to the middle. What middle? Trying to claim the middle in America is like a skate boarder claiming the white line between two semi tractors. It can be done, but is stupid to do. What everyone wants is the bigger half. The middle isn't even a fraction of a half. And anyone could write a book about why that is, and why we are divided like day and night. The answer is simple, and the solution is just as simple. We are divided because there is money in it. Take the money out of it, all the money that is made because brother is fighting with brother, and not watching for thieves, and the problem is done. We are divided and conquered because there is money in it. And sure, I don't expect much of change and hope from Mr. Obama. It is just that, if the people vote for it, we are that much closer to having it as a reality. The first step toward satisfaction of needs is to put into words what you desire. If the people vote for change, and hope; they shall have it some day. And sooner than if they do not vote for it. What do you think... Sweeney

Mr. Shapiro;
The fact of the matter is that there are stupid people, ignorant people (I assume you know the difference), intelligent people, and insightful people supporting each of the major candidates.
Your effort to denigrate the intelligence of all Obama supporters collectively reflects poorly on your own thinking ability, and dramatically lessens my ability to apply any credence to your writing.
I shall continue to read your contributions here on the Creators website, because it is important for me to try to understand other people's view points. I shall not take your comments to heart as representative of the general conservative consciousness, however. I think most conservatives are more open minded and tolerant than you.
I'm afraid that you speak (or write) with the misplaced arrogance of youth. As a well educated supporter of Obama, I find your comments insulting.
