McCain's Straight Lies

by Thomas Sowell

We have been hearing for years that Senator John McCain gives "straight talk" and his bus has been endlessly referred to as the "straight talk express." But endless repetition does not make something true.

It is my belief that Sen. McCain has been compromised by his POW experience in SE Asia. The USG Select Senate Committee on the POW/MIA issue acknowledges that some POW's were left behind at the close of hostilities, although the debate was obfuscated over wordage as to whether they were alive or not at the war's end. The governments of PRC, Viet Nam, Russia, and insiders in our intelligence groups know the truth. It was not unwarrented when DR. Sowell leveled a clear shot at Sen. McCain's credibility on the other issues of his character. The Lincoln Trust scandal was one issue of his character, but that will not significantly compromise this country. But , if Sen. McCain is elected President, PRC and Russia could use their knowledge of then POW LCDR McCain to play their Viet Nam POW trump card which would to pressure McCain into actions more favorable to these countries. As a member of the Select Committee on POW/MIA Affairs, if Senator McCain could turn his back on the men that he fought beside and were captured, who knows where his character could deliver this country's foreign policy decisions? Where is LT. Patrick J. Dunn, USN, captured by PRC near Hainan Island? Our government says they do not know. PRC knows. Maybe PRC, Viet Nam, and Russia know too much.
