In response to Disparagement # 2: Were you ever polled? Was anyone in your family polled? Why should anyone believe these bogus numbers?", yes, I was called for over 4 years, on a regular basis by both the CNN and ABC News polls when I lived in Tipp City, Ohio. You could pretty much count on getting a phone call within a day or two of something significant happening in the US, on Capital Hill or overseas. Sometimes there were just a few questions; other times, the discussion went on for as long as 20 minutes.

Sir;... before this election is over I want to say Great Job!, -one more time for your work on PBS. Next... It is small things, almost miniscule details, upon which elections turn... And; No Matter how much history predicts the present, and how much the present makes sense in regard to history; the future is always different, I suppose, because the similarity of history to the present is gross rather than complete, and the future is like a big, loud, slow motion bullet that most folks can get out of the way of before it hits them. No one can escape reality forever. No one can dodge all the bullets... No one can dodge too many bullets at once. We have had the government of everything is all right. We have had the government of tomorrow will be just like today. Sure it disturbs me to hear some one like Mr. Biden use the R word. Politicians don't lead revolutions... It is people who must kick out all the stops before history can advance. It is people who make what happens inevitable. Does this moment suit you??? Don't get too comfee, or the hands of time will slap you silly trying to get you out of the way of history.... It's coming, and not as pretty or polite as you may have wished. Find a safe perch in an old and time tested (Liberty) tree if you can still climb. Better to look like a monkey in a tree than the road kill of history....Thanks....Sweeney
