Americans have short memories and a curious inability to read and learn from history. The only difference between ExxonMobil and Standard Oil is that ExMo is not big enough--yet.

its unlikely my 2 cents worth will make a speck of difference but the rampant tren among young women for having a child outa wedlock mystifies me but so does the linking up between evidently 'lush babes' & scruffy guys etc, also, i dont understand the stampede for young women with skin the envy of ALL older people, espec. women going in for tatoos----PAYING to be permanently mutilated.

i am part of a generation twice removed from these & i fear for the future of our Country.!!!! almost entirely airheads. i live in asheville nc where skateboards, mopeds, graffiti are on peoples minds but i wont represent my self as some kind of advocate for marriage(i have 51 yrs experience [same wife]) but my take on it is WTF? gays are prepared to fight to the end for the so-called institution of marriage & here these young women carelessly cast it one side. if you have it figured out or if you solve the mstery PLS let me know.

Your article invites more taxes and goverment intervention. "Call it a tax, get the job done. The Department of Energy established by the Carter administration now costs us 24.8 billion per year, employs over 160,000 people and I ask what have they done? NOTHING!!! Just another failed beaucracy, imagine what these people will do with health care. I just wish they all, including you, would go away and leave us overtaxed citizens alone. Get out of your northeast liberal haven and learn how the real people live. Don Wolfe, Kernersville NC.
