Ma'am,
You went and let some one pin the commy-red star of liberalism on your picture, and though I have read your article I did not find any of your broken finger nails stuck in a single liberal ideal. I think you should insist on a nice neutral green for your star, friendly, and not confrontational. I don't like the stars or letters. If you are not all American, not for this one or against that one, but wanting good for the whole people, and you can't keep people guessing about where you are standing, then you deserve a star, but not your rights.
As soon as you accept the label you have cut your audience in half. Who do you want to talk to? Maybe half is a huge market. My guess is, that it really isn't me you are talking to, and maybe, some day, it will be. In any event, if you were yelling Timber, or Lookout!, you would want everyone to hear you. And that is the tragedy of division. Listening only to those people who say what you want to hear is perhaps 99% of the problem. LBJ had it about right saying: My Fellow Americans. Well, my fellow Americans, No One should have to get the label off their back before they talk about what is good in America, and what needs to change. There are more than two kinds of people in this country, and a miriad of solutions looking at problems, but apart from that; there is one type of person in this country that stands for union, and another that stands for disunion. It would please me if every person with influence were for one people in one union in this country.
