After an eight-year drought, it's kind of nice to listen to an articulate speaker who can answer questions that have not been scripted.

"Except Obama couldn't help himself Tuesday. He slipped in a little "celestial" stuff anyway by quoting the parable at the end of the Sermon on the Mount about how you have to build your house upon rock and not sand." I found this bit to be rather insulting, actually. Jesus was talking about Himself when he used the term, referring to all else as sand. It was absurd that the president borrowed it to refer to the economy.

Re: Paul M. Petkovsek. Which president have YOU been watching? Obama's speech is filled with "uh's" and "hmm's". He makes Bush look polished by comparison. To say nothing of what Obama is actually saying - lots of talk about hope and change, and very little about how the country will actually improve its economy or anything else by trying to borrow-and-spend its way out of a recession.
