It would appear that Obama's comments conform to the Democratic party's desire for a Nanny state which can so organize society as to fulfill the party's sense of justice for all, even if it requires fascism .

Mr. Buchanan: As a long-time San Francisco resident, I take umbrage with you and your ilk's continuous assault on our fair city. You consistently refer to our "San Francisco Values" in what is clearly a derogatory fashion. Now you refer to us as the "Chablis and brie" set and say that we are elitist. I say that YOU are the elitist for thinking that you are better than us. To you and those like you who so dislike our city and its residents, please never visit here. We don't need reverse elitists.

As a long-time Lansing Michigan resident. Coming from the type of small town in the rust belt that Obama was talking about. I think this is another case of a politiian being trampled for telling the truth.

It was said behind closed doors to the chablis-and-brie set of San Francisco, in response to a question as to why he was not doing better in that benighted and barbarous land they call Pennsylvania. Like Dr. Schweitzer, home from Africa to address the Royal Society on the customs of the upper Zambezi, Barack described Pennsylvanians in their native habitats of Atloona, Alquippa, Johnstown and McKeesport.
