Sir;... Your mouthing the protests of injured freedom in other lands would have more meaning if this were a land of liberty.... Why not make this place into a land where the liberty bell sounds clearly, and does not rattle with death everytime it speaks??? If you want freedom; be enterprise, because here, enterprise is free, and the people are in chains... We do not govern our circumstances, our economy, our trade, our communications, our government; so these circumstances rule us... We are at their mercy... For what??? If the economy did not result in injustice, and injustice did not have the protection of law, then it would not be necessary to control the behavior of all people outside of the economy.... People are almost always just in their dealings with each other, moral in outlook, kind and forgiving... Why then must we endure cops all over the place, and snooping into every aspect of our lives, and have more people in prison at great cost per capita than any other nation??? Is that because of terrorism, because of communism??? This police power has been growing with every excuse, and is never diminished... Ultimately, if we did not export injustice around the globe we would not need fear it finding its way home... I must disagree with the libertarians... We need to self govern, and we cannot expect the economy, which is all about self service, will automatically do anything in the interest of the whole people... We must govern that which without government will govern us... It is time for industry to be ruled, and time for people to be free... Then; when we can show the world how freedom works, as it always has worked, with people free in true democracies governing their situations, -then will we have something to advertize.. Otherwise, we should let others work out their own relationships as they always have, without interference, or criticism... We have always leaned on their scale of justice; and we have almost always seen people hurt as a result... Let us have freedom here, and think long and hard before bothering people there.. .
