This sums up the whole bleepin' mess in this country. It's obvious that the left that hated Bush's war with Iraq will embrace Obama's war with Iran, in this right left right left march into the Middle East. I've read many books about how Roosevelt maneuvered Japan into firing the first shot, convincing Americans to go into a war that over eighty percent were opposed to. Orwell knew that our ignorance was the government's strength. Our slavery was the government's freedom. Our wars were forever for government's peace. The media tells us who to vote for, who to love, who to hate, what to wear, what to think about...you're either left or your right, a socialist or a capitalist, a conservative or a liberal...In the end, Smith finally surrendered his thoughts to Big Brother. I wonder how many people reading 1984 today understand. Thank you for the best article I've read in years.
