If I Am Elected Vice President
by Chuck Norris
Last year, I enjoyed taking a momentary respite from my rather serious cultural and political commentary in order to share my tongue-in-cheek campaign promises in the column "If I Am Elected President." Because I didn't make that political cut, I decided to weigh in on the vice presidency this year. The timing seems particularly apropos, not only because of the ongoing election but also because The Washington Post currently is running a new "Chuck Norris Facts" contest.

I like the way you think Chuck. As a fellow Texan, I would vote for you, even if I was not a Texan I would vote for you. Please see if you can't get on McCane's ticket. I will keep you in my prayers. Keep up all the good work you are doing. Love ya.

That works for me. Besides, how could I say no to the folks that send so much money our way, by renting our mountains here in the Land of Enchantment? I'm particularly fond of permanently ending all pay and pensions for all elected congress members. How about adding the FairTax to the list of "Get 'er Dones"? FairTax.org
Maybe in four years you could run with Jesse Ventura?

Good one, Chuck. I think a lot of it will come true in the Millennium. I note that Dr Peter S. Ruckman of Pensacola Bible Institute has written an article in The Bible Believer's Bulletin for next month about what he would do if elected president. Among his actions would be to halve all congressmen's expense entitlements and reduce the president's income by 60%. We would agree over here. I believe that in the financial year 2006-2007, our members of parliament, 646 of them, spent in ACA, additional claims allowances, in total the equivalent of over $US170,000,000, which amounts to over a quarter of a million US dollars per member per year on average. Cutting these costs would certainly be a good source of extra income for, for example, veterans and their families, married couples' allowances and tax exemptions for church groups loyal to the Constitution. Rest assured that if I could vote for you, Chuck, I would.

You got my vote!!
I do wonder where else you could get paid for not working and, to boot, vote in your own pay increase. Especially when many of your bosses are out of work and can't find work. There is seriously something wrong with that. I'm just a lowly housewife but it seems to me inorder to get this nation back to the people that's a good place to start. No work no pay!
Also I'm tired of hearing what they will do and then after they get in to office they play around and don't do it for the first 4 yrs. so they can tell us that 4yrs. just isn't enough time to get the job done so they need another 4 yrs. And if that's not bad enough they don't do it in their second term because they know they don't need our votes. I say if they don't really show they are doing their job in the first 4 yrs. then vote someone else in. We just might find someone who really wants to work. They just might decide that if they want a second term then they are going to have to get something done in the first term.
If the GOP really wanted to do what they promised they could have done it in the first 4 yrs. of Bush 43's term. He had a GOP Congress. What President, who really meant what he said, wouldn't have loved to have had that!
But what do I know! I'm just a housewife! Ha! Ha!
