I am Dr. Sue Lein. My maidan name was Susan Buckingham. I attended Interlochen National Music Camp two summers: 1958 and 1959. I was there on a piano scholorship. I took lessons from Dr. Whittington. While there, I learned to play the harp. I went back to South Dakota, but there were no harp teachers there. I taught myself to play the Benjamin Brittain "Ceremony of Carols" on the harp. I went on a Northeastern tour with Augustana College's Choir. I accompanied them, playing the harp. We performed in Carnegie Hall, New York, Consitution Hall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Canada, New York, New Jersey in 3 1/2 weeks. My 2 summer class harp lessons were a God-send. I have played with numerous Symphony Orchestras. I am presently a Professor teaching 62 piano students at The University of Louisiana at Lafayette, in Lafayette, Louisianna.Thanks to that "heavenly experience" at Interlochen, I was able to accomplish many things. I have played numerous piano concertos with different symphonies, and was able to do so because of the background Dr. Whittington gave me in piano at Interlochen National Music Camp.
