Sir;... If people will believe anything, and you right radical mouthparts have often proved that fact; then only you and your leadership have the ability to change their minds... And you cannot change all the minds...The hardest thing for most men, and perhaps all people, can ever do -is to admit they made a mistake... It is upon small shifts of public opinions that government in one party rests... What if you prove to them by your rank stupidity and cupidity -that you cannot be trusted to roam the streets let alone run the government??? You have on your side the fact that people want to believe... Many have their preachers pushing them in the direction of the GOP... The left has many elements where no white male from hickeyville will ever feel at home... The moral issues pushed by politicians also push the politicians.... The total lack of a creditable system of education that can, at public expense, bring any individual to a point of rational thought and critical inquiry makes party rule likely for the right -because their narrow minded parochialism appeals to people who feel home ends at the horizon... We have people in government who are totally incapable of taking the long view, or taking the council of science, or of the people; and some folks act surprised that the people reject the long view, reject science, or the council of the fellow citizens... You say they are stupid... I say they have no choice... They are uneducated....They have been supported in their prejudice and mislead by their preachers, and by their proagandists... Even they, if they are made to suffer enough of needless depression will become educated... No doubt, many will turn on any democrat that comes their way... Watch -that the whole mess of us don't figure out that you, and the GOP, and the Democratic party -are our deadly enemies, and put you all on trial... You have taken something from us all, and you have left us with little; and you have misused all the authority and rights given to you to make a mess of this land... We do not know how bad it can get... WE do not really know if we can support ourselves with our own labor, and industry.... Some one should be making plans; because if our world crashes, yours will crash too... Some one should be working on a master plan, or a five year plan, or something...
