Question for Alexander Cockburn:

I'd be interested in knowing what the actual geological surveys show for the Western Desert of Iraq. There have been extensive articles and published maps describing huge (undeveloped) oil fields. But it's like the proverbial "elephant in the room" that the oil industry spokesman and consultants seem to be avoiding at all cost.

Would you be so kind as to relate your thoughts (or investigative direction that I can pursue) on the matter?
