As the saying goes: The people get the kind of government they deserve. You can put the blame on Congress of course, for big government, but who put those people there in the first place? You!
Every time something bad happens, there are those that scream, "There oughta be a law". Well you got your laws and regulations, now you have to pay for it.
If people would only read the constitution, you will see that it is supposed to control how and what the government is limited to. Government is not supposed to regulate things other than what the constitution says it should. Where does it say that government should control the media, education, utilities, food processing, medical care, banking and finance, social security, and a host of other things.
Congress is supposed to regulate, mint and control the money of this country, but instead has put it into the hands of an institution called the Federal Reserve, which is NOT Federal and is NOT governmental, but a private organization. The more money it makes, with out any value to back it up, the higher the inflation and the more it cost to make and buy things. The Federal Reserve is NOT controlled by the US Government and hence not bound by any rule, law or regulation.
Where does it say in the Constitution that there should be a Dept of Transportation, A Dept. of Commerce.
A lot of the rules, regulations and laws that people now have to obey, and pay for, has been put in place by non elected officials and department heads.
The US Government has now, without the people consent, has taken over a lot of what the states should be regulating, Such as Docks, Mining, Housing, Roads, (including interstate portions), and other things.
If it's the tax laws that have gotten out of hand, don't blame the flunkies at the IRS. Blame the congressmen and other s who write the tax laws, and that is the House Ways and Means Committee.
Government is permitted and allowed to tax the people for what is needed only to run the government. Any surplus has to be given back to the people. Our Governments, state and local included, are not permitted or allowed to over budget, nor buy or do things without the consent of the people. And certainly not by unelected
officials.
Unless the people stand up and demand an accounting and demand a vote for change in the way governments make rules, regulations and laws and stop allowing elected officials to into creating more and more government, then the trend toward bigger and bigger government will continue and the people will continue to pay more and more of their income for things not needed. The choice is yours.
