They said it because it is true. Right-wing propagandists such Limbaugh are outraged at simple truths.
There has been right-wing extremist violence taking place recently. There have been threats against Obama by right-wing extremist groups.
Limbaugh and his ilk are enemies of the truth.

I wonder why the new administration thinks that the Vets are somehow fodder for "right wing extremism". Could it be that they know that their policies and attitudes towards the Vets would cause the Vets to think that the Administration doesn't trust them, or believes that they, the Vets, to be so stupid to ignore their oaths.

This is a common practice of the left. Make a statement that has no business in reality. If there has been such threats don't you think they would have been all over the news.
