"The claim that the Bush administration was somehow dilatory sets a new standard for gall, particularly coming from Eric Holder. As former federal prosecutor Andrew McCarthy points out, 'The principal reason there were so few military trials is the tireless campaign conducted by leftist lawyers (including Holder) to derail military tribunals by challenging them in the courts.'"
Although not explicit in the above cited statements, it is abundantly clear this salient dichotomy is not about the Bush administration, but about hatred for the U.S. Military, the Constitution, America and its heritage. In the false logic and perceptions of social progressives and leftist ideologues like Holder, et al, these absurd notions can only be contrived from anti-American perspectives. Based on the disciplines and provisions of Geneva Conventions and the unlawful enemy combatant status of detainees at the center of this controversy, there is absolutely no Constitutional basis for conferring Article III rights and privileges upon anyone now in custody of DOD or subject to UCMJ military tribunals. To put it bluntly, Mr. Holder, it is treason.
