I think the US has run Amuck Constitutionally. There seems to be those who seem to think they know what's best for us. I pray to God that there are checks and balances in place to keep them from being able to sell us out. I hate to pop their bubble but a college degree only means they have knowledge in what ever they have studied, to sell to others, to make a living. So I'd rather listen to their pros and cons and do my own search and make up my own mind. May God keep and protect the USA!
Chuck I really love reading your articles. Keep up the good work! God bless you, your wife and family!

Totally agree with Sister Lola above. Your article has a resonance here, Chuck. Our government, sadly aided and abetted by the monarchy, is also running amuck and its unpopularity is increasing in proportion. Over here, the key issue is that the government is actually planning the abolition of Great Britain, and thereby itself, by means of what is called The Reform Treaty, which will confer on the European Union total dictatorship over this country, reducing it to a mere 12 puppet regions within the EU, controlled directly from Brussels. Why are our leaders doing this? For the same reason that motivated Judas - greed. The Treaty is the 6th and last of the EU treaties and will come into force on January 1st 2009. A group called EUTruth has analysed the situation in great detail and concluded: 'Each of these six treaties [is] completely illegal under the British Constitution, our 1689 Bill of Rights, our treason laws, and under our common law. It is unforgiveable that the Queen, her Ministers and our Parliament have committed the criminal act of treason by signing these treaties, and broken our laws to abolish our nation.'
I fear your leaders will in principle do the same to you, if they can.
The EU has long been an enemy of Great Britain but our corrupt politicians and news media have largely managed to conceal the destruction, though the truth is emerging, nevertheless. For example, EUTruth has revealed, in detail, that Britain's membership of the EU has cost her over $US10 trillion (in pounds sterling) since joining in 1973 and costs her nearly $US 600 billion annually - 25% of GDP. (The EU will have the resources to pay off the Judas traitors - see above.)
Like your safeguard against despotism built into your Declaration of Independence we have a similar safeguard, Article 61 of Magna Carta, the Great Charter, signed by King John at Runnymede meadow by the Thames on June 15th 1215. Article 61 states in part as a counter to despotism (which John tried to impose), 'the community of the whole realm, distrain [use force upon] and distress us in all possible ways, namely, by seizing our castles, lands, possessions, and in any other way they can, until redress has been obtained as they deem fit.' Today, the means are political and a desperate rearguard action is being fought.
Perhaps Article 61 was the basis for your safeguard? It is interesting that the man who drafted Magna Carta was the then Archbishop of Canterbury ,Stephen Langton (1150-1228) - an Englishman first and a churchman second, it should be noted. Langton is also notable as the man who gave us the chapter divisions in the Holy Bible. Every bible believer owes an eternal debt to Archbishop Langton.
It is to be hoped that God's people in both our nations can utilise and benefit from Stephen Langton's political insight as they have been blessed by his biblical wisdom.
