Barack Obama never guaranteed he would end partisan rancor in Washington. He said he'd try.
The assumption was that Republicans might want to work with Democrats to reach shared goals. Passing a stimulus plan to stop the economic freefall would seem an easy place to start.

Ms Harrop,
You need to get better informed on this stimulus package before you give your opinion. It is not the stimulus package, it is pork laden ie: health care, overseas abortions, ACORN, etc. If you don't have time to read this 4-5 inch thick report I suggest you watch Glen Beck or listen to Rush L. It is back in congress but Polosie will not let the GOP see it to read it before it comes up for a vote. John Culverson said that this AM.
We do not need a socialistic country which is the direction we are going at this time. If someone doesn't listen it will be too late.

Ma'am....The republicans know you cannot help half an economy... If the economy improves for the democrats it will improve for the republicans, and they will take credit, and cast blame that it did not improve more; and it will not improve more... They are fiddling while Rome burns... I'll bet they are way too late... I hope republicans and democrats both meet their fate sooner than later in the great dumpster of history.... You can't beat a dead horse...It is certain you will not plow a field with one... This stimulus wants to shoe a dead horse... I hope they don't expect him dance... I don't think it will be dancing... This government is breaking itself, and has been to see capitalism not working.... Just what sort of misery will it take to make this stiff necked people see the facts, and abandon the past...
