Ma'am; It was a comment made by Merrils Murauders, that an army mule would would give out long before a man; but Merril ruined a lot of men, pushed them too far, and asked too much...It sometimes happens in war; but should never happen in peace... But it does, and more in hard times than in good... Ask, so many years after the industrial revolution why we are still working eight hours a day; especially when eight hours can creep into ten or twelve out of the necessity of keeping a job, and showing a profit...There are people looking for work, and instead of workers working less; they work more... I've done it in my time... Eight to ten on the iron, and something under two each way there and back... Enough of that and you don't know whether you are coming or going... The thing is,  accidents increase; stress increases; family fight increase, and general misery and fear... If we fail we have the consolation of knowing we failed fair and square, having had no more to give; but we have failed no less, and the whole failure of capitalism for us, is borne by us...It is nonsense...It is the way a people becomes a tribe of slaves by degree...More for the boss and less for you until you find you have bought your life with your life and have nothing left on either end... It is pitiful... What we are seeing is the demoralization of this county... When people allow themselves to be  victimized because they are trying too hard to hang onto the essentials of life, to family, home, hope- then they find they have been robbed of what they need most: their honor... This is our land... If- to be slaves we must trade all our waking moments, then the price is too high...People work to have a life, and should not live only to serve their jobs... People should resist slavery... The price is too high...Thanks...Sweeney
