Sir;... It is not too late for Americans to take over the industry we have left, and it is crazy for us not to... If workers had recieved fair wages, and if we had refused imports, and refused reverse mecantilism; then others would have taken over markets and production around the world... But look at what we have done for empire... We have run our own working people into an early grave for short wages that would not support the government, and then we have exported our capital, our factories and money overseas... We have imported and sold to a domestic market that is no longer able to support imports... The rich have grown rich by this process, but the people have been ruined, and the government has been ruined, living on debt, and shot as a market.... Let me ask you, and let me ask anyone... Can we produce for our own needs??? Can we survive on what we produce???We know we have not energy enough to survive a siege, or a prolongated war; but can we even survive without imports, or exports; because from my perspective, economic anarchy, as capitalism is, an outlaw, -has done to foreign markets what it has done to us: Increased expectation, increased needs, decreased resources, and increased exploitation... This is crazy..We know we can nuke people, but we don't know how to nuke them without nuking us... Does the govenment govern anything except the people??? We can't spit on the street, and business can get away with murder... Capital runs the government, and the government runs us; and we are left helpless, and hope less, with time marching on while we are stuck in the mud... We cannot defend ourselves without the help of our free market friends... So; What if their people find their interests are not ours??? What if they look for their wealth, and their lives, and find them departed to an even more distant shore??? People cry about Madoff... Madoff is small potatoes....The whole economy is a ponsy, and if people are looking for their wealth they will have to look long and hard... But not far... Some of it is in the pockets of the rich, but our capital has been spread around the globe, and is no more secure than our ability to enforce our laws abroad with our armies... In other words, it rests on good will and the mutual interests between our capitalists and theirs... To me, that is not much to go on when the self interests of their populations, as with our own, may rest on a strong domestic market, which again, means fair wages, and domestic production...It was strong domestic markets which made the United States great and powerful; that, and exports of lots of cheap grain... For what, and for whose benefit was this market shot, and our capital exported from under our control??? We treat our capitalists like Gods, above the law, and beyond morality; but they are not our friends, for they have robbed us of defense... Thanks...Sweeney
