If the US was to stay in Iraq another 20 years the result would be the the same - sectarian and tribal violence when we pulled out. Further occupation by a foreign country whether it be the US or some other country, will do nothing but postpone the inevitable. The best thing to have done was never to have invaded Iraq, but the great self proclaimed war president couldn't wait to show the world what a big tough he-man he was (as long as it involved someone else's life). The next best thing is to get out and get out now and let the Iraqis figure out how to get along with each other and develop their own democracy, which may or may not be possible. That is not for us to say. The people like Blankely, Bush and the rest of the hawks don't give a damn about democracy, peace or human life. Keeping the US in a state of fear and on a war footing is their main concern. There is money to be made in war and strife; that trumps all.
