Sir;... Our problem is not really state flags...Part of our problem is states... Look at Katrina for example....There were three, and perhaps four levels of government if one count that Parish; and yet that was not an excuse to get things done, but to not get things done...It is the multiple layers of responsibility that is the greatest cause of irresponsibility... In Burma, Field Marshall Slims learned to attack at the ends of the map...... Where one general's responsibility ended and another's began was the weakest point of defense... No one would cover his neighbor's area, and as from time ancient one man always expects to be covered by the next man's shield...Commands should overlap, but they never do...And the desire to not do more than is necessary leads to not enough being done... Today we have layers of law and bureaucracy.... Does this mean the goal of bureaucracy and law are met??? Not hardly, unless that means police, lawmen, and bureaucrates getting paid...Now; if I were designing the government, I would certainly have the state representatives do double duty in Washington... We need the ratio of representatives to citizens provided for in the Constitution... But there is no reason our state representatives could not be our state government, and our national representatives... Then it would be a little difficult to point the finger of blame at Washington, or the state, if the same people occupied both offices... Today we have a game that has led us no where... If people want power without responsibility they do not belong in government...They ought to have as much power as they are responsible, and no more...Thanks....Sweeney
