Earlier today I read (again) the case of Plessy v. Ferguson. The supreme court upheld a Louisiana law sanctioning segregated public facilities on the separate but equal balony. The rusing stood firm until Brown v. Board of Education. I recommend those cases to all for a careful reading.

A judge's decisions should be based on the intent of the law rather than a judge's own personal view of that law. Soto's gender, race and background have absolutely no bearing on anything. She should be confirmed or denied based strictly on her judicial performance. Has she let her own personal views cloud her judgment or has she based her past decisions based on the intent of the law?
