Good on you. I think you(and most other women) look fine with long hair.
Short hair is for women who have quit trying.

Some women have the facial features to pull off short hair and some don't. Your one of those ladies who obviously thinks that she needs her hair to be beautiful but your wrong. Suga (hairstylist to the stars back in the 80's) popularized the notion that "if a women isn't beautiful, she should wear something beautiful". It's sad really to see that those cultural masogynistic stereotypes like "you need long hair to be feminine" still exist today. It's what between the ears that counts, right?

Hey Connie,
Your hair looks great to me. The asymetrical short cuts of today are often eerily similar, so much so that from behind I have often mistaken some women for another. Sometimes individuality leads to unintended conformity. Your columns are a pleasure to read.

You have awesome hair. I wouldn't cut it either. I'm in my 40's and do my hair in a pixie because it doesn't look healthy like yours when it's long anymore. However, I fell a lot hipper with the short hair. !?. That's worth something at 40. no?
Great mom stories ,she sounds like a lot of fun.

Dear Connie, I am older than 50 and have dark hair down to "there". Every "Beauty" tip I read says this is a BIG no-no. Think I care? So why are the same short haired women always exclaiming over the prettiness of said hair, and 99% are total strangers? Do what you feel good with yourself. This kind of "Hair" does take extra work,(ya gotta keep it out of fans), extra time, but if you like it the way it is, go for it!
