Ma'am; is it some kind of surprise when party leaders act in the best interest of their parties??? I would argue that is exactly the groups best served by our system of government... Parties have allowed the economy to self destruct, and has driven the poor and middle classes into a grinding poverty, while showing they had no power to govern the stupidity of a bone headed president... -And they are doing good; better than the whole country...Mr. Burris may be a good man, and an able politician...There is a reason few Blacks inhabit the Senate, and some number of Women do... It is because women are seen as more electable... The party could give a care who holds the seat; except their preference is for some one young because the population is young, and a woman, if a minority, because women will vote for a woman, but Blacks cannot even count on Blacks to stick with them -if they do not bring home the bacon... The democrats risked the presidential election to make a point... But that does not mean they want to throw away their chances at long term power...The democrats may be crazy; but they are not stupid...Thanks...Sweeney
