What's a "Moderate"? <> "Conservative" and "Liberal/Socialist/Left-leaner" are pretty easy to define in terms of the Constitution and the heritage of our Founding Fathers. A conservative sees the Constitution as a bedrock document, to be used to reign in the ambitions of those who govern. A conservative seeks guidance in the wisdom of the Founding Fathers to provide solutions for the problems we face today. A liberal/socialist/left-leaner sees the Constitution as a "living document" that can be "re-interpreted" to fit the current fad they support. A liberal/socialist/left-leaner considers the Founding Fathers to be passe (accent, please), to see history as starting today, and all problems to be new, requiring "fresh, new ideas" to address them. Of course--if I may editorialize--their "fresh, new ideas" do have intellectual roots, but they go back to Marx, Lenin, and other creators of the socialist ideology, so 19th century Europe, instead of 18th century America. <> So, tell me, what's a "Moderate"?
