Thank you, thank you , thank you. Fianlly someone out there in media land finally get it. We are not dumb or
stupid. We expect more from politicians that seek these offices. Why do we demand more from our children than
we do from these "wanna be" leaders?

Right on!
"America, we are failing you if this has become the standard. We are a nation growing increasingly dumb and simplistic because we've replaced actual intellect and ideas with who stands taller."
I've been posting similar messages on board, that will actually allow me to post, for weeks. Politically, I pretty much in line with you Martin. Ultimately I don't care what anyone's political persuasion is. But I do care that they arrive at their conclusion using their intelligence.
The sentiment that education = intellectual and the anti-intellectual movement is truly frightening.
I recently was directed to Michelle Malkin's website re: an article on Las Vegas ACORN/crackheads/lazy/inmates. When you actually read the documents she presents as evidence (and a quick check with the reporter) the only logical conclusion you can make is: ACORN had clear performance standards re: quantity and quality of documents, employees were well advised, ACORN reviewed all documents and identified duplicates, terminated underperforming and fraudulent employees promptly and sent documents to election officials. Since the election guidelines were made law in 2007, the officials, apparently, did nothing to gear themselves up for this well known election until late summer 2008, at which point they asked ACORN for an additional copy of their previous submission (meaning they either lost the previous or lack a xerox machine) I guess the officials felt compelled to adverstise their diligence by the well-staged raid, but based on Malkin's evidence, it would seem that ACORN was ready, willing and able to meet with them at any time.
The comments following her column compound the mindless buy in. They just see the headline and rah rah rah.
We should all be frightened.
