Thank you, Connie, for your sane comments about the weight loss industry. I am the director of The Body Positive, a non-profit organization that provides body image and eating disorders prevention education to women and girls. I am saddened that supposedly powerful women such as Valerie Bertinelli and Kirsty Ally can offer nothing more as role models than their weight loss stories. And considering that the "results are not typical" and that over 90% of women who purchase Jenny Craig's diets, processed foods and tortured weigh-in sessions will not be successful in keeping any lost weight off over time, it is, in my opinion, irresponsible for these women with the resources to hire personal trainers and chefs to encourage the average woman to follow in their footsteps. Here's to true women's liberation - excellent self care created through radical self love! Cheers! Connie Sobczak
