Just got finished reading Linda Chavez's opinon article on the destruction of CIA tapes. It's truly amazing that someone can twist their mind enough to actually support such an argument. For that I commend Linda.
How easy it must be to persuade a gullible mind such as that of Linda's.
Her view reinforces the concern that so many rational minded people are becoming concerned about today. Radical conservatism is laughable to read but, at the same time, sad

I agree Chuck. This is just one of the clueless citizens of this country who will, at the drop of a dime, sign over all our civil rights for her hypothetical safety. It is very frightening to think about the fact that there are many more like her. I wonder if this administration told her to destroy anyone with a Spanish sir name in the name of "safety" would she do it. I think she would. She is just gullible enough.

If our nation does not stand by the Constitution and the Bill of Rights then we stand for nothing. Just as I support your right to say anything as dumb as this article, I also support the rest of the Constitution. The true test of character is how you act under stress. Do you give up your morals at your convenience. Then you have no morals at all. I would not support torture under any circumstances. Of course experts in the field, that I have heard, say it is an unreliable way to get information. So why would we do it? For the fun of it I guess.

Fear is a bad advisor. A very bad advisor. A handful of amateurs with box cutters pulled off an impossible plan. It was successful beyond their wildest dreams. All of them perished. America became a bunch of sniveling cowards afraid of their own shadow. It was an embarrassment.
Instead of rising to the occasion we disgraced ourselves by disregarding all that we stand for that is great and glorious and noble. “Home of the Brave” indeed. We no longer trusted our laws and Constitution.
When I compare this puny attack to what happened in Europe during the Second World, War, the bombing of London, the destruction of Warsaw, the countless colossal battles overseas, the attacks in Israel, in Lebanon, the list is endless, and think of how bravely the population responded, our quivering is shameful. In the twinkling of an eye we gave up our greatness and exchanged it for ignominy. History will not be kind to us.
