I want to thank you for crystalizing this opinion and saying what liberals feel but are not saying.....

It is also complete NONSENSE. Obama offers no bipartisanship. He would love to have it but unless he can hoodwink the two Maine Senators again, he won't get it.

Democrats have the votes so why the handwringing? Because many of them who don't reside in safe liberal districts know that if they don't vote the will of the people, they are toast the next time they come up for their next campaigns.

So how does a public option reduce costs? It does not. All it will do is drive employers away from providing any plan at all. Your comments about the pharmaceutical companies being cozy with Republicans is just as ill informed. they are cozy with who ever is in power. For the last couple of years in the Senate and House, it has been democrats.
Democrats can't fix health care because they have no concept how to do so. Reliance on government to build the economy is a loser time and time again. Cost won't be controlled by having one option. Costs are controlled by attacking the root cause of the cost. Determining the cost components and then adressing them to bring them down. Just having a public otion will do nothing.

So if they have the votes, why are they afraid? Talking about this nuclear otion is just as crazy. Lets see if they have the gaul to do so. If it were to pass, I hope that in a couple of years time when you call in for a routine physical appointment, that they assign your appointment eight weeks out the same as in the UK.
