Oh, boy! After reading this, my hopes for a sensible Isreal-USA-Palestine policy under Obama are dashed. Furthermore, may we assume that our planes will refuel the Isrealis going in and out for their murderous, useless, attacks on Iran? A nation of 70,000,000 literate people? A nation with a landmass as great as California, Texas, Arizona, and New Mexico's combined? Or, put another way, bigger than Iraq, Afghanistan, and Vietnam (N and S)? Isreal is not our friend. Just their attack on the USS Liberty killed more sailors than the USSR ever did. And the Isrealis may well have known about the impending attacks on 9/11/01, but kept silent to tighten their death grip on the taxpayers of the USA. Why do we have this unquestioning alliance, how does it serve us?

The next four years will tell all. Certainly Obama will move to make address the growing inequality in wealth among Americans and probably also in environmental and trade policies and to reestablish the primacy of the Constitution to whatever degree the D.C. establishment will allow but as far as any sense of fairness in Israels-Palestinian issues, forget it. Just remember that the "definition" of anti-Semite has no problem leaving Arabs out even though they constitute more than 90% of the world's Semites. If you can't get equivalence in the dictionary, don't even think about evenhandedness in world affairs. Back to the economy, until we start making the things we buy and buying the things we make, we're just kidding ourselves; you can't borrow money and buy things made by others and expect to have a working economy. Lord knows we've tried that for the last 30 years, accelerating that trend all the while; the only wonder is we've made it last this long. Wealth is created by making, not buying things, shouldn't that be obvious to all but the talking heads of this country?
