Since you are so unconcerned about turning the planet into one big garbage dump, why don't you buy one and try living in it for a while? While you're at it, go to your local pet store, buy a rat cage, fill it with rats, take it with you to your new home, and watch what they do to each other.

Gasoline here in the UK costs the equivalent of over $US 8 a US gallon. (1 Imperial gallon is 1.2 US gallons.) Petrol has always been more expensive in the UK than in the US but the price has gone up 8-10% in the last few weeks. It has climbed steadily from less than $US 2 a US gallon 30 years ago, which even then was quite a hike from around 50 cents a US gallon before the 1974 'oil crisis.'
In other words, the trend is worldwide. Thanks for your practical suggestions, Chuck. I could only add an observation about a strange statement in scripture concerning the End Times, Revelation 6:6b, "See thou hurt not the oil and the wine."
Leaving aside the reference to wine, if this statement has any applicatin to oil reserves, it could possibly be construed as a warning about the environmental lobby which prevents exploitation of existing shale reserves and/or any kind of government-sponsored strategy to exploit other peoples' oil reserves, to ensure continued supply to the developed world.
Either way, or both, the context shows that the directive is diabolical. You are scripturally sound in urging resistance.

Dear Chuck:
I LOVE your column and look forward to it every week. You tell it like it is - with verbal martial arts - and these days that takes real guts. Jesus Himself told the big wigs of His day just what they were like and minced no words (e.g., Matthew 12). God bless, dear brother, and keep up the great work! It's badly needed.

Thanks for the heads up Chuck. I just signed the petition.
They were suppose to have been taking care of this since the 70's. I told my Rep. that there just wasn't any excuse for any of this. If they had done what we told them to do back then we wouldn't be having this problem today. Isn't this suppose to be a government of the people by the people and for the people? I sometimes wonder if they aren't doing this on purpose to distroy this Great Nation.
I pray God protect our sovereignty because it sure doesn't appear like our government wants to. God help us!

Good evening Chuck, just read your latest column and I could not agree more with all you said. My friends and I have ben talking about the same thing. We have so much oil here in our country, but the EPA won't let us drill for it. I would love to do everything I could to keep our enviroment clean and healthy for future generations, but we also have to think about the ones that are here now. If gas and grocerys and other things we have to have get higher and higher, we will lose the enviroment anyway, because there will be so many people out of work, and in the food lines, and hunting for places to stay at night, just trying to get by for another day. Do you think they will care about picking up a can, paper, cups or anything else when their lives are going to pot? Our government CAN put a stop to this, just let us start building refinerys and drilling our own oil. With the technology we have now days I think it could all be done with out doing so very much damage to the enviroment. Right now at this time the Middle East has us just where they want us and I don't like that. I believe in my Country, and I love my Country, and I think everyone that can say the same, should start fighting for it. Our men and women are doing a wonderful job keeping us free and safe, don't you think we should be doing the same for them here on the Home Front? It is TIME for the people to step up and let our government know that we are going to take back our Country, it is "Of the People, For the People, and By the People. It is time get our lives back, and let the people we elect into office know, THAT WE THE PEOPLE OF THESE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA ARE "FOR THE PEOPLE, BY THE PEOPLE AND OF THE PEOPLE, our agendas not yours are to be heard. If any official including the President, think the American People can't pull togeather, YOU better think again. As you can tell I am raging mad, like a mad bull, so I thought this a good time to get it off my chest. Hey, Chuck, you left out Texas and Oklahoma in your oil states. And as a proud Texan, we are ready to let the oil flow. The gentleman that stated that G'dtold the horseman not to touch the oil or wine is right, But the apostle Paul did say one glass of wine a day was good for the stomach. lol. I study Bible Prophecy and I am a Christian. I find the prophecys very interesting, and am amased at how many have already come true, I think there is somewhere around 1000 prophecys not sure the exact, but from what I read more than 600 have already been fullfiled. Now this could scare you to death, or like me I just think it means the Jesus is coming soon. God's Blessings Always. The website for the petition is: www.AmericanSolutions.com

Hi Mr. Norris,
I first want to tell you how much I appreciate your involvement about sex predators and it's showed me that you are a great person, not just a great actor and athlete. I did not know your political sympathies until now because it's not something what I use to "judge" people. Me personally am not republican and I don't agree with many things what they/you propose, but for me it's just one better thing about America. What I will like to ask you like person who I admire, is Why is so hard, in your opinion, for Democrats and Republicans to swallow their ego and admit that both parties have good ideas, same like they have some bad ideas? Why they can't seat together and use good things from both sides and implement them in our lives? For example: “I agree with you about using own resources for improving our life style, but why not include proposition that "new drilling" must be done with technology what will provide safe environment too? Why not "force" oil companies to spend some of their enormous profit to develop those technologies and then there will not be (I believe) any reasonable reason against that? If you read these discussions I will really appreciate your answer. Thank you.
