Bush and Cheney are safe because the Dems leadership is gutless and to some degree complicit in Bush's crimes. As far as Bush and Cheney's claims about the necessity for their actions because of the threat of Al-Qaeda, comparing it to the Civil War and WWII, such idiocy is believable to the American public, the vast majority of whom know no history and see no reason to acquire such knowledge. The Republicans have always understood the American public far better than the Democrats, and had the economy not imploded, that being the one area where Americans pay attention, they'd be rejoicing at McCain's victory. Those of us who truly care about the Constitution, the rule of law and our relating to other nations in a more humane way are in the distinct minority.. "Power of Pride", more like "Pride of Power."
