you write in the hypothetical mood, describing president obama's straightforward actions regarding the somaili pirates. he gave the order to shoot. your speculations whether he might have hesitated in that order are not based on reality, because he did give the order. i find your efforts to compare the services of a hollywood actor, john wayne, who never fulfilled military duty either in peace or war, to those of jimmy carter, an alumnus of the u.s. naval academy and a former u.s. naval officer, fatuous. for how many men was john wayne ever responsible, other than those actors on an imaginary hollywood set? despite the loss of the brave soldiers who died in the iranian desert as carter attempted to rescue the u.s. hostages held in tehran, all the hostages came home alive. what in john wayne's repertoire compares to that?
