What in Ell is Almost Consumate Victory???Is that the sort of victory you can't take your eyes off of because it will become the defeat it always was???Those Men in Afghanistan could use some help... Take them away from your Almost Consumate Victory in Iraq???? No... We don't want to turn Almost Consumate Victory into almost certain defeat...Isn't that what Hitler said to Mussolini, that: We've taken Stalingrad, almost...That almost covers a lot of not there yet...And we aren't any closer in Afghanistan.... So what if you don't want bipartisanship???. Bipartisanship got us into the rat holes of Iraq and Afghanistan... If bipartisanship has nothing to recommend it is because partisanship has nothing to recommend it... Parties are what is wrong with America, and no part of what is right with America... The democrats went along with giving Mr. Bush the power to get into war, and only because of the power of party, because the republican party could make the democrats dance like clowns and jump through a hoop... Every charge no matter how ridiculous, is easy to make and impossible to defend against for lies once lodge in the minds of the gullible will remain, impossible to evict...... For the protection of party, the society can go to hell... Look for our protection... Where is advise and consent???? If you can spin even the best of actions such as universal health care, and fairness in broadcasting as unpatriotic, or un-American; then you can hamstring the whole society on the same grounds, and when small numbers decide any election then great numbers and small politician run in fear... So; by all means, do not cooperate, especially when you feel the nation conflicts with your self interest... Show the world your character, if you have one... My problem with the republic is simply that both sides can cooperate to do anything stupid, expensive, wrong, or without gain; but cannot do anything right even if the cost is relatively small...
