Being President 101

by Tony Blankley

With two weeks still left in President-elect Barack Obama's transition and because of the alleged corrupt conduct of several people in his proximity and his own passivity and public silence (and the inherent drama of current events), his has become the most dramatic presidential transition in memory.

The phrase "No Drama Obama" was born March 12, 2008, when retired Air Force Gen. Merrill McPeak, who was campaigning for Obama, labeled him "No Shock Barack, No Drama Obama. ...

Sir;... I do not wish to make a comment specifically about your article... I do think it is all to typical of a society and a governement on the skids...We know that the economy is crumbling, and it is a failure of government that it cannot stop the basic greed of capitalism from feeding on the society's marrow... And while this situation goes to the dogs, the press is writing the new government out of any moral authority... What would you think if some one charged that you were guilty of another's crime??? Does the basic injustice of that situation not offend your sense of fair play???I am certain life must be business as usual to you... I don't know who else sees it that way; but obviously the right radical press agrees with you... And, I am with you to a point; and it is: that until the old is torn down nothing new can grow up in its place... Look at how long the old was being torn out of the colonies before our final war of independence began... You may feel like you are helping yourself; but the gain may be humanity's... And again; look at this time in our history as that of Greece in the time of Demonsthenese, and look at what a corrupt and legalistic place that was, and how well it served them... Look at Rome and the Gracchi Brothers, and their famous relative Caesar, and at what each dared, and how all failed to return the society to democracy... Look at the antagonisms just beneath the surface fanned to a bright flame by the rhetoric of both sides, until it grew into bloody civil war... You can fiddle... Some one is paying your tune... Do not think you do not help me only because I find you a disgusting toad... You damn Mr. Obama what ever he does... Tear it down... Abuse the man... Inhibit his abilityto function at all costs... He may save capitalism for a time... Over your dead body... And for that; I pray for you.. I wish you success... There have been many societies like our own, floundering about in failure... You are a symptom, but we both know that symptoms do not kill.. Disease kills... Hooray for the disease...Hooray for you...Out with the old, and on with the new...Thanks...Sweeney
