Barney Frank as Madame Defarge

by Mona Charen

"It is an easy and vulgar thing to please the mob … but to improve them is a work fraught with difficulty, and teeming with danger." — Charles Caleb Colton

"The mob is the mother of tyrants." — Diogenes

Shamelessness is the order of the day. If I were an AIG executive entitled by law to a large "retention" bonus negotiated before the taxpayers had bailed out my company, I hope I woul ...

Ma'am; ....As Verde can testify; the rage is real, and not all thought out or well directed... But I would urge you to listen to C-Span... That is a filtered source... It suffers from much sanitizing of the more insane responses; and yet, a lot of anger and pain does slip through... And it is good of you to say they, the liberals have no plan, but where is yours??? Hasn't the republican way been rejected??? You know that intelligent people will not credit your trash talk with patience....None the less, I will say it because it is true: The people are right even when they are wrong...The people are the law......And their rage, left and right, is fully justified... They were sold a bill of goods... And now they see clearly that the economy, given the freedom none of the citizens have ever enjoyed, has robbed us all, and run amok...There is no reason the state should get behind the economy with the people's money... Let it die, and start again... Go back to zero, and start again....Those bankers have bled us...They have forced us to jump through our butts for a job.... They have made the farmers work around the clock, and made workers live in a log jamb of autos and debts....They have exported our jobs and industry for a higher profit while the government watched....The government has not governed.... It now wants to deflect the rage from itself... I wish them luck...They are too bound up with business to get clear, and they will be trashed with business... It is simply too late for them... Now the value of the money is beginning to crash...We will see it at the gas pump first... Eventually it will rob from all of us; and why??? All because the government has not the courage needed to tax the rich who are the only ones in this whole wide land with anything but worries....Thanks...Sweeney

Ma'am;... Btw, ... Everytime government fails to govern, to act as the law when law has clearly failed us, it get closer to the moment when a mob will form around some insignificant idea the way a raindrop forms around a speck of dust...I think people should go there...I think they should get in the face of the government... I want them to express their opinion, and nothing more...No one wants to lead anyone anywhere... But even a mob where everyone is trying to hide behind some one else is still good for some damage... The people are afraid of trading their poverty for prison... If they get frustrated enough to not care no more, then there is an outside chance that they can do some good... So; fear the mob... There is mutiny in the crew; and I don't blame them one little bit...Thanks...again...Sweeney

I would like to see an interview with one of the bonus recipients, one where they show only his shadow and they have his voice scrambled, to see what he was thinking. He probably has a rational explanation.

On Meet the press some years back either Dingel or Rangel said to Tim Russert that when they (the Democrats) came in majorty they would hold hearings re. "discriminatory lending practices". In other words: Green light for irresponsible lending, taxpayers will pick up the tab. What we hear now is nothing but politicians screams for their own job security. Get the mob roaring. If contractual requirements for bonus have been met: Pay the bonus. What stellar performance other than spreading money can be attributted to Gorelick and Reines? Being good clintonistas? When will there be an Oscar for the best (most shameless) actor in the Congress - one for each house? LSR

Taxpayers keep hearing , from politicians and CEOS', "that all the high-dollar employees are needed to insure we maintain the skills and experience we need to keep the companies operating" - well, folks, here's a news flash for you! Had these employees been competent, worked long hard hours (and I do mean productive working) and with any skills and experience, at all, Freddie, Fannie, AIG, BIG 3, Banks, and anyone else taking Taxpayers money, America wouldn't be broke and in such dire straits! Since the Politicians like Frank, Ms. Waters, Rangel, Pelosi, Reid, Geithner, just to name a few, have all been in on these 'scams' from the 'get-go', and this is why they all stick together like most thieves do! When borrowing trillions of dollars, without Taxpayers consent and knowledge, creating Nafta and Cafta, causing Americans jobs to be sent overseas.Bankruptcy is inevitable for “Freddie, Fannie, AIG, Banks, and the ‘BIG 3'!” The sooner the better, as America needs to get back to basics, pay off the debt loads they created, and cut the 'hype' the Politicians and CEOS' are creating and will continue to create if Taxpayers don't step up to the plate and say 'ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!' It's time to run America like a private business; meaning, President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer. All these committees, departments. branches, and campaigns have gone on long enough! It's obvious government CANNOT manage a company, let alone run a company! Therefore, don't you think it's time to cut salaries back to $12,000.00 yearly for the less than 30 days of Public Servant work that's absolutely no use in America society today. Look around at what's taking place and the total destruction they've created in past few decades! If politicians and CEOS' don't want to take the pay cut to $12,000.00 yearly, then it's time to sell them a one-way ticket to the countries they've sold American out to with no return to America! This shouldn't be a don't ask situation but tell them situation! And another thing, bank accounts, retirements, and all assets should be taken from these politicians and CEOS', without having a court case, since it's obvious this is Taxpayers money. The trillions of dollars could be paid back to foreign countries, that was borrowed without Taxpayers knowledge and consent! They're all guilty! CASE CLOSED! This is why they stick together! Why should Taxpayers have to pay to protect the politicians? Come to think of it, not one of them are royalty and certainly not important! IT'S LIKE DC AND THEIR HOLLYWOOD PARTIES, AMERICA DOESN'T NEED IT - IT LOST IT'S APPEAL SEVERAL YEARS AGO! Taxpayers should demand that Property Taxes, Public Schools, Bailouts, Bonuses,Incentives, Pet Projects, Lobbyists, and Non-Profit groups, be eliminated. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that America lacks leadership and has been bankrupted by a bunch of greedy politicians in suits with very deep pockets! WAKE UP AMERICA!
