Thank you Lenore! I worked for a short time for a friend who had a flower shop. OMG!!! They would come in with all their swatches to make sure that the flowers matched exactly and I mean exactly! One young woman brought her mother in and they were both in tears because the color of the roses she picked for her and her escort did not match the dress. They stood in this little shop and called a "friend" who was an attorney to ask what recourse they had against the owner. The bouquet was beautiful and expensive. I just couldn't believe what I was hearing.
Another event that I don't understand is Homecoming. Remember the wool skirts or suit we would wear with a pretty sweater, not anymore. It is all formals and glitz. I so fondly remember my homecomings (I dated one of the football players) and the huge football mum with our "W" done with pipe cleaner.
When and why did all these events become "red carpet" moments? I am for getting back to basics and I am very glad that my children are grown.
