Especially during the jingoistic period when we bombed Afghanistan with B-52s, and I said that the only thing accomplished was moving around some rocks. and that that was not the way to get Osama Bin Laden. And when these nutjobs say "America, love it or leave it", what they really mean is for you to leave the planet entirely. As a Vietnam vet, I did not ask them how many "commies" they had killed; I'm sure the number would have been the same as Cheney/Bush: Zero. All my life I have seen the USA align itself with jerks; we always select the worst choice as our pal. Your mentor explained it: Money bought them. Martin Luther King said it best: "If History has taught us anything, it is that the moral choice is always the right choice."

I'm 62. I remember thinking that Nixon should have ben impeached for what his people did to Muske when they faked his letterhead and sent anti Jewish letters to Jewish voters. I thought in a democracy that "knowingly lying" about your opponent was - and should be - TREASON. Boy was I wrong.

The Republicans no longer even try to defend or explain their positions at all. They just lie, lie, lie and lie about their opponents. AND - the American people - thinking all politicians are bags of p*ss ACCEPT the lies because they feel more comfortable feeling negative - they truly don't believe in - Hope, the Future, Change - none of it. Republican appalling disgusting vicious lies have won the day - day after day after day.

The US was always an appallingly "ignorant" nation (not "stupid" - ignorant). It grows more so every day. You revel in your "ignorance." If the world did not NEED the most powerful nation of earth to be a force for reason and hope I would advise all governments everywhere to simply disengage with this ridiculous, embarassing nation.
