In 1955 Kent Cooper, head of the Associated Press for 25 years, released his book "The Right To Know". Cooper explained how the United States government used the media to take us into World Wars 1 and 2. Cooper also warned how, in the name of national security (to protect us from communism), the United States Government had adopted the same "news suppression" policies as the Soviet Union. Basically, our government has been feeding the media what they want Americans to believe for a long, long time. There isn't any real investigative reporting by the mainstream media--they offer government educated intellectually impotent Americans he said she said sound bites, knowing most will not research beyond what their trusted news service is telling them.
Our government run schools don't tell us not to trust the government, that the media is looking out for their own interests, or that big business, through their foundations, controls the think tanks on the right and left. We're told how great our government is and that we have a "free press". The government cattle barons have conditioned most Americans to think like cattle, to be easily herded toward war and totalitarian controls by their compliant think tanks and media ranch hands.
Thank you, Mr. Roberts. Some of us are searching for the truth, and you continue to produce it. You are a true patriot.
